How to Make the Perfect AI Character Sheet for Consistent Characters
Fix the three character sheet mistakes that waste credits on consistency: build a 16:9 four-panel sheet, use a solid gray background, and gray out the faces on the full-body views.
Quick guide
What you will learn
- Split a 16:9 sheet into a face close-up plus full-body front, side, and back views.
- Give an important prop its own reference sheet.
- Use a solid gray background so white light does not make the character look plastic.
- Gray out the small full-body faces so the close-up is the only facial reference.
Step by step

1. Four panels in 16:9
One detailed close-up of the face, then three full-body views: front, side, and back. Props get a separate sheet.
- 0:38
2. Use a gray background
White backgrounds affect the lighting and can make the character look overly bright or plastic.
- 0:49
3. Remove the full-body faces
Small faces carry little detail and confuse the model. Gray them out so the close-up leads.

4. Let the Character Builder do it
The Pray Production Studio Character Builder applies all three rules to every sheet it makes.

0:00Most people build AI character sheets like this, but this is actually the wrong way to do it. And if your character sheet is wrong, you can waste a ton of credits trying to fix consistency later. Here are three mistakes to avoid. First, always build your character sheet in 16 by nine and split it into four sections. One detailed close-up of the face, then three full body views, a front, a side, and a back.
0:27This gives the model a clear reference for both the character's face and their entire look. If your character has an important prop, create a separate reference sheet for that too. Second, stop using white backgrounds. Use a solid gray background instead. White can affect the lighting and make your character look overly bright or plastic.
0:49Third, remove the face from your full body shots. Those faces are usually too small to contain much detail, and they can actually confuse the model. Gray them out so the model knows to use the detailed close-up as the main facial reference. And that's it. You now have a much stronger character sheet for consistent AI generations. And in Pray Production Studio, our character builder already does all this for you.
