Publishing your videos on YouTube and social
What to know before you post an AI-made video, including YouTube monetization and AI disclosure.

Your finished videos are yours to publish wherever you like. Before you post, check the rules of the platform you are posting to, because each one treats AI-assisted video a little differently.
YouTube monetization
YouTube allows monetized AI-assisted content, with conditions:
- Originality matters. YouTube's policy on inauthentic content demotes mass-produced or templated uploads. Videos with original scripts and real creative direction are the ones that stay monetizable.
- Disclose realistic synthetic footage. When a video contains realistic generated people or events, YouTube asks you to mark it as altered or synthetic content in YouTube Studio when you upload.
YouTube changes these rules from time to time, so read its current policy before you publish.
Other platforms
Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok also have AI labeling rules, and some apply a label automatically. When in doubt, use the platform's own "AI-generated" label. It never hurts trust, and it keeps you on the right side of the Terms of Service, which do not allow presenting AI output as human-made.
